2016年8月、日本国はパナマ共和国政府との間で「租税に関する情報の交換のための日本国政府とパナマ共和国政府との間の協定」の署名が行われたことを公表しました。

本協定は、金融口座の情報交換に必要な自動的情報交換を含む両税務当局間の情報交換について規定するものであり、国際的な脱税及び租税回避行為の防止に資することとなります。
